I had a VBAC!

After having a C-Section with my 2nd child, of course I was a bit concerned when I began thinking about delivery with my third. I  began to read about having a natural birth after having a CSection AKA VBAC-Vaginal Birth After Cesarean.
One of the most important things I read was about good candidates for VBAC.
It seemed I fit everything that made a good candidate.
My initial visit with my OB-GYN did not go as planned. The Doctor started telling me all the risks involved. "Uterine Rupture"  She did not make it seem like an ideal choice and suggested I do a repeat CSection. I'm always one to heed the Doc's orders so I went home that day with a set decision.. no way no how am I going to put my baby at risk of death. Repeat Csection it was! Then I was on facebook in a cloth diaper forum when we started discussing our deliveries.. somehow a mid-wive started talking about how she had a few VBACS. This peeked my interest. So I private messaged her and she suggested that I seek out a midwife in my area. I did and met who I thought was going to be my midwife for my baby's delivery. She assured me that I could do this as long as me and baby were healthy and thankfully, we were.
Fast forward to full-term. My midwife gave me the option to induce before my due date. I didn't see the reason so I said no I'd rather labor began on it's own since I was trying to have a  Vbac. Then she explained that if I did not go into labor 3 days after my due date she would have to transfer me to a different physician. That was fine with me. I went to the hospital a day before my due date but it was false labor. My midwife asked me again to induce. I refused and she dropped me then and there. I had no idea who my physician would be when I did go into labor. Then on my due date I went into real labor. I was dealing with contractions very well. I met my new Dr. at the hospital. He was very understanding that I did not want to be induced. But then again I didn't need to. I was 3 CM and having very regular contractions. My labor was 10hrs, 7 in the hospital. I did get the epidural around 7 cm. Thank God everything went perfectly and I was able to have a                            successful VBAC and a healthy baby girl.

Recovery was much better this time around & I was able to be with my baby immediately after.

"Why?" - me
"For pushing the baby out"- Russell  <--If that wasn't motivation, I don't know what is!
