All about my cousins

Hey people! I'm here with a pleasant post. It's about COUSINS! I had always been very close to my one cousin who around my age. We did EVERYTHING together! During summer vacations we used to spend the night (more like week) at each other's house.. and then switch to the other house. Now we aren't so close. Of course you grow up and have a family you don't really put that relationship as a priority anymore. Sad but true. Now my kids have cousins.. lots of them. well imagine, I have 5 siblings. 4 of them have 2 or more children! The only problem is they are  pretty far apart. My idea of "All about my cousins" came from my desire to reach out to one of my nephews who was going through a rough time :( I decide to have my son (who is his age) write him a special letter with cute little crafts to send as well- A hand tracing is always a big hit and of course every kid likes stickers. I'm sure it made my nephew feel special. My son had a great time doing it and of course he was super excited when he received a letter back!
Afer that I created a facebook group that was to post updates of the cousins onto a private group between the moms of the cousins and to share them with our kids. They especially enjoy seeing pictures. Just a neat way for the kids to keep in touch. I thought why not take it a step further and actually have each kid get to know each other. Pen Pals immediately popped into my mind. So that where we are now.. getting a calender set up so we can alternate pen pals throughout the year.
Here's hoping this works!

These hands need some love!

So, I'm sitting here reading my friend's blogs and painting my nails (which I barely ever do!). When I do I feel especially nice but I don't really know any good techniques or really great colors. I usually use Revlon.. actually they are the only ones I have. How do you keep up with the latest colors when you don't have time? How do you get your nails to dry quickly? Being a mom I don't have time to just sit around blowing on my nails. I would really like to keep up with my nails but don't have any motivation to. Colors? Techniques? Do you use base coats and top coats? How long do you leave it on for? How do you dry it? I could really use some nail motivation! oh and do you use any other products for you hands/cuticles? Please HELP ME out GIRLS!

My Herd

I realized my blog might be a bit more interesting if you "met" the people I live with.
Matthew (my husband):
He is a very happy person who takes joy in the little stuff.
He can have a bit of a short temper but he's working on it.
The very best dad. He loves to see his kids smiling.
Loves him some NFL and watching new movies (with me of course) at home in our living room when the kids are down for the night.
He my handsome man!

Russell (our first born):
He's super sweet and loving.
But also a big baby.
Loves to be outside.
He's a cuddle bug but doesn't like to share most days.
Loves a good story and family time.
He's super excited to turn 5.
Oh and for some reason he loves when I call him and Vivianna (kiddos)

Vivianna (middle child):
She's a sweet heart.
Has a temper and will let it be known.
I call her my sour patch- "First they're sour, then they're sweet."
She LOVES shoes!
She loves to be with her brother even though they constantly fight.
She's a happy girl who whines a decent amount since she turned two.
Very smart! She knows a few letters and already loves the color pink.
Oh yeah she's the ultimate Daddy's Girl!

Sarah (our baby):
Momma's girl.
She's not fully content unless she's with me!
She's happy to be talked to.
But not very happy if it's not mommy who is putting her to sleep.
She loves Momma's bottles ;)

Those are my loved ones. Now when I mention one in my blog you'll know a little bit about their personality. What are some of your kids personalities?

I had a VBAC!

After having a C-Section with my 2nd child, of course I was a bit concerned when I began thinking about delivery with my third. I  began to read about having a natural birth after having a CSection AKA VBAC-Vaginal Birth After Cesarean.
One of the most important things I read was about good candidates for VBAC.
It seemed I fit everything that made a good candidate.
My initial visit with my OB-GYN did not go as planned. The Doctor started telling me all the risks involved. "Uterine Rupture"  She did not make it seem like an ideal choice and suggested I do a repeat CSection. I'm always one to heed the Doc's orders so I went home that day with a set decision.. no way no how am I going to put my baby at risk of death. Repeat Csection it was! Then I was on facebook in a cloth diaper forum when we started discussing our deliveries.. somehow a mid-wive started talking about how she had a few VBACS. This peeked my interest. So I private messaged her and she suggested that I seek out a midwife in my area. I did and met who I thought was going to be my midwife for my baby's delivery. She assured me that I could do this as long as me and baby were healthy and thankfully, we were.

Welcome to My World

Let me start my blog off with a little about myself. My name is Suelaine AKA Susie. Youngest of 6! I got married at 19 years old and wow that was a curve ball in my life.
There I was thinking, "I'm going to have the perfect marriage. I love him so much!" Truth is it's not a walk in the park. Marriage takes a lot of work! It didn't make it any easier that I got pregnant about 2 months after. By our first anniversary we had our first baby (Russell). Of course we were very happy and eager to have a baby and I at least had diaper changing experience with my nephews and nieces. But no amount of diaper changing can prepare you for having a baby with you all the time.. especially with our young mentalities at the time. We made it through the first 2 years with lots of arguments and "leave already"s but we were determined to not give up on each other or our family. When Russell was a year and a half, I got it in my head that I wanted him to have a sibling just by seeing his tender reaction to his baby cousin. I got pregnant immediately but sadly had miscarriage at 11 weeks. That didn't stop us  from trying so after Russell's second birthday I got pregnant again. The following year I had a c-section (she was my breached baby)  to bring my daughter, Vivianna, into the world. After we had her we thought our family of 4 was complete. It felt so right to have her home with us! uh-hem... 2 months after she turned one... my baby fever flared up again. Only because my son was going to be 4 years old and I thought if we were going to have another baby, I wanted them to be close in age. A day before my daughters 2nd birthday we had our little Sarah. That's where my life is at now. I am very content to have my three kids and am definitely not planning on another one, which probably explains the dog. We adopted Onyx (a lab mix) one week ago. So there you have it 25 years old, 5 (almost 6) years married, 3 kids, 1 dog and Otto, our Guinea Pig. Well, this should make for an interesting blog!
